How to Spot an Authentic Prada Bag
Prada bags exude class and sleek, modernist lines. Made from distinctive materials, these bags are made entirely in-house.
Find the Prada logo on the inside lining. It should be stitched using two to three lines, ideally including PRADA and MILANO.
Brand Stamp
Prada is known to have sleek, minimal silhouettes. However Prada is known to add a touch of flair. The Cleo is an example of a satchel which first came out in the Multiple Views Spring/Summer 2021 collection which was released a year before Raf was named co-creative director. The bag features curved lines with lots of energy. It comes in a range of colors, including inky black, white milk and a powdery Pistachio. This iteration of the Cleo is constructed from a smooth brushed calfskin as well as light spazzolato calf leather, which creates a soft sheen that's less glossy than patent leather. A bejeweled version of the Cleo is also available if you're looking for something more daring.
Authentic Prada bags feature a logo or tag inside, based on the style. For older models it will have three lines that read "PRADA MILANO MADE in Italy as well as the newer designs will include two lines that say 'Made in Italy'. The logo is embossed on the outside of bags with linings made of fabric, and can be stitched onto patches of leather for smaller bags or non-leather styles.
The tag should always match the hue of the interior liner. If it doesn't, that's a big red flag. The tag should also never be made of plastic or cloth.
On the back of real Prada zippers, you will discover the name of the company’s five zipper manufacturers. Verify that this information is located on the bottom of your pullers. Fake zippers tend to be larger and shorter, with cutouts that don't align correctly with the slide.
Triangle Logo Plaque
Prada bags come with an inverted triangle plaque that sits on the outside of the bag. It has four lines: the brand's name, city of origination (Milano) and coat of arms. The plaque is firmly attached to the bag. False logos aren't center and can be lifted up when they are. A genuine logo should have rounded corners, not square ones.
The interior of a genuine Prada bag is made from embossed leather or jacquard fabric. The logo design or rope chain line will print on the fabric lining. redirected here will alternate, with the first line printed in a vertical orientation and then the roping line upside down. A real lining will also feature a small square that is stitched into the inside of the pouch. The square indicates the factory where the bag was produced.
A genuine Prada bag comes with a product label and dust bag. The card, a piece of black paper that has a sticker attached, has more information than the label on the bottom of the bag. It may include the serial number of the bag, or a barcode you can use to obtain more specific information from the Prada website.

Another method to verify the authenticity of the authenticity of a Prada bag is to examine the hardware. The zippers, clasps, and feet of the bag must be made of gold or silver. If they're not, that's an indication that the bag is fake. Be sure that the hardware made of metal is stamped with the Prada logo printed on it. The zippers must also be smooth and not catch. Over the years the company has employed different zipper makers such as LAMPO YKK, and Riri. Make sure to check which one your bag comes with.
Interior Logo Plaque
Authentic Prada bags come with either a ceramic or leather plaque inside that displays two or three lines of text. The words must match the color of the bag's the lining. If the tag only has two or three numbers or is printed in black, it's not an authentic bag. Prada has a white label with brand marks. It is also known as a factory tag or an assurance tag. It will bear a number between the Prada and Milano and may also say Made in Italy. Examine the bag for this tag, because in the event that it is not present it could be a fake.
If you find the logo on bags is made of fabric or plastic instead of leather, it may be a fake. The plaque must be secured to the lining, and have four round corners. The font used on the interior of the plaque must be the same font used on the exterior.
Make sure you check the fonts of the bag, and also the plaque. The fonts on the bag should be consistent, especially if there is an authenticity or dust bag card.
A notch is visible on the right leg. The original Prada logo has a small amount of space where the right leg connects to the body of the letter, however, the counterfeit is slightly inclined. This is another detail you may miss, so make sure you check your Prada bag to ensure accuracy and consistency. By following the guidelines above you should be able to determine whether the Prada bag is authentic or not.
Hardware

The inside logo plaque of the interior of a Prada bag is another method to determine if a bag is genuine. The plaque should be secured securely to the bag and have four rounded edges. The letters that make up the word "PRADA" should also display these characteristics that the right leg of each letter should be noticeable thicker than the left and they should be curving slightly upwards.
All genuine Prada bags come with a Quality Assessment Tag (QAT) that's stitched inside the bag's interior pocket. The QAT will have an either a three or two digit number that indicates the manufacturing facility that the bag was made. Counterfeiters have noticed this tag, so make sure to check for one on any bags you're thinking of buying.
Authentic Prada bags will always include a dustbag. The dustbag should be identified as PRADA and include an official label stating that it is 100 cotton. You can learn more about authenticating bags on the Prada website or speaking to an associate selling at your local store.

When Miuccia Prada introduced the nylon bag in 1984, she shaken the fashion world with a revolutionary new material that made her bag both practical and stylish. The innovative design utilized the same industrial-weight nylon utilized in military tents, which made it strong and versatile enough to accommodate everyday needs.
The bag is timeless but has been updated through the years with new fabrics and shapes. The Galleria bag, named after a historic shopping arcade, has recently gained the status of an archetypal bag. The top-handle bag blends classic frame bag silhouettes from the 1940s with a modern approach to design and structure, resulting in an ultra-chic design that is both elegant and pragmatic. The most recent version -- a roomy, crinkled antique leather bag that has been seen on It girls' arms all summer long -- is as Prada as you can get.
Other Prada bags -- like the slender Diagramme bag that was first introduced in 1995 -- rework timeless shapes and fabrics to appeal to today's discerning buyers. Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's favorite demure bag has been reimagined using rich leather dyes powdery blue and pink and powdery blue.
Authentic Prada bags come with the triangular logo of the brand that is attached to their exterior. The plaque has four lines of text: the brand name (PRADA) as well as the city of origination (MILANO), the year of production, and the coat of arms. The plaque should be placed flat against the bag. It should never be removed or moved.
A true Prada bag will have a unique mark on the interior liner. The letters should be all capital serifs and oriented with the right side of the 'R' angled outward from the rest. This identifying mark is an important thing to look out for, as it can help you weed out fakes from real Prada bags.
